Risk Classification of Organisms: Pathogenicity classification of RNA and DNA viruses. Status November 2021

NOTE: This list has been updated in 2023 (see CGM/230929-01).

The Netherlands Commission on Genetic Modification (COGEM) advises the Dutch government (amongst others) on the classification in risk groups (classes) of organisms according to the risk they pose to human health and the environment. These classifications are written in Dutch and, therefore, published only on the Dutch part of the COGEM website.

In order to inform organisations outside the Netherlands about the classification of viruses by COGEM, the most recent classification list has been translated and published on the English part of the website.
